Jakarta, February 2022. Known as a precast and readymix manufacturing company that supplies a lot of products for the majority of infrastructure projects in Indonesia, PT Waskita Beton Precast Tbk (Stock Code: WSBP) also continues to innovate by developing prefabricated building products for residential development, both landed houses and high rise. Based on the 2020-2024 RPJMN, the Director General of Housing of the Ministry of PUPR has a target of 70 percent of households living in decent houses or as many as 11 million households.

To make this happen, on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, WSBP signed a Strategic Cooperation Research & Development Prefabricated Building for Residential Houses & Apartments with PT Waskita Karya Realty (WSKR).
The signing of the Cooperation agreement was carried out at the WSKR head office located at the Waskita Rajawali Tower Building, Jakarta. On this occasion, WSBP was represented by Poerbayu as the President Director, while WSKR was represented by Ery Prananto as the President Director.
The main points of the agreement are that WSBP and WSKR agreed to prepare and carry out strategic partnership cooperation for Research & Development prefabricated building Residential houses and apartments through the use of products, resources, experience and capacity according to their respective business activities.
“This is a good collaboration as a fellow subsidiary of Waskita Karya. Later, the WSKR building project will use WSBP`s prefabricated building products. Buildings using prefabricated buildings are an alternative for housing in the future," he said.
Buildings using prefabricated buildings are buildings that are built prefabricated (off site construction) and consist of several building components or called modules. This prefabricated building product is made from precast concrete material which is very suitable for high-rise building types. This method also supports manufacturing companies to fully digitally transform and improve the quality of their products.
The advantages of prefabricated building products that are being developed by WSBP are light weight, do not require heavy equipment, easy to obtain materials, earthquake resistant, and have competitive prices in the market. Furthermore, Poerbayu stated that the prospect of the WSBP prefabricated building is very promising and good because the precast system is very much needed in an effort to accelerate the fulfillment of housing and apartment development needs.
"Currently, we are targeting building projects such as buildings in the education sector and new residential buildings at IKN Nusantara," said Poerbayu.
In the future, WSBP and WSKR will collaborate with PT LAPI ITB to prepare prefabricated building products, so that they can serve the demand for these products with the latest technology and according to the community`s needs for affordable and fast housing.
For information, WSBP has supplied precast half slabs for Sentul City Bogor Apartments, supported a permanent residential relocation project in Kupang with the RISHA system, and built a Dormitory Learning Center with the RISHA system.
